numerous inorganic constituents were detected in the annual sample. No herbicides or pesticides
were detected. No new COCs were detected above PQLs,and therefore, no verification retesting
is required.
For the Austin Unit,no significant changes in the water quality analytical results were noted.
During the fourth quarter 2012 monitoring period, CLs were exceeded in Detection Monitoring
Program(DMP) wells A&M-6,AIVIW-7,AMW-12,.ANIV-13 and AMW-14. With the
exception of tile barium concentration measured in well AMW-14, none of tile CL exceedances
exhibited statistically significant increasing trends. It should be noted, however, that the barium
concentration measured in the sample collected from well AI&M-14 is within the historical range
of values observed at this well. For the Corrective Action Program (CAP)wells, trend analyses
are performed instead of comparison to CLs. During the current monitoring period, statistically
significant increasing trends were noted for three VOC constituents in CAP well AMW-1, while
one or more VOC constituents were noted as having decreasing trends in CAP wells AMW-I,
A4IW-10, and AMW-1913R. The increasing cis-1,2-dichloroethene trend in well AMW-I
suggests that active reductive dechlorination is occurring in the vicinity of these wells.
The results of the, annual leachate sample collected for the Austin Unit are similar to those,
observed historically, Six VOCs, live SVOCs, 12 dissolved metals, and numerous inorganic
constituents were detected in the annual leachate sample. No herbicides or pesticides were
detected. The SVOC 2-inethylphenol,(o-cresol) was nicasured above its practical quantitation
limit for the first time in the leachate sample. Accordingly, the presence of this constituent will
be verified in retest samples scheduled for the second quarter 2012.
According to the Forward Landfill Operations Manager, standard observations have been
conducted weekly during the reporting quarter. The Forward Landfill Operations Manager also
rell, orted that no surface: water was discharged from the facility during the reporting period.
I certify under penalty of law, that I have personally examined and am familiar with the
information submitted in this document and all attachments, and that based on my inquiry of
those individuals immediately responsible for obtaining this Mrormation, I believe that the
information is true, accurate, and complete, I am aware that there are significant penalties for
submitting false information, including the possibility of fine and imprisonment.
I
If you have any questions regarding this report, please call me at (209) 982-4298.
Sincerely,
4 ii -Al
Erin Farming
Environmental 'Manager
Attachment
