2.1 Meetings <br />In order to facilitate construction, and to clearly define construction goals and activities, close <br />coordination between the Owner, Design Engineers, QA/QC Consultant, and Contractor is essential. <br />To meet this objective, pre -construction and progress meetings will be held. <br />2.1.1 Pre -Construction Meeting <br />Following bid award, a pre -construction meeting will be held at the site. The purpose of this <br />meeting, attended by the Owner, Contractor, Design Engineer, QA/QC Consultant, and others <br />designated by the Owner, will be to: <br />• Review the construction drawings, specifications, CQA Manual, work area security, <br />health and safety procedures, and related issues. <br />• Provide all parties with relevant project documents. <br />• Review responsibilities and qualifications of each parry. <br />• Define lines of communication and authority. • <br />• Establish reporting and documenting procedures. <br />• Review procedures for handling submittals. <br />• Review testing equipment and procedures. <br />• Review procedures for field directives and change orders. <br />• Establish testing protocols and procedures for correcting and documenting <br />construction or non-conformance. <br />• Establish weekly meeting schedule. <br />• Conduct a site inspection to discuss work areas, stockpile areas, lay down areas, <br />access roads, haul roads, and related items. <br />• Review the project schedule and critical path items. <br />• Contractor's work plan. <br />Page 3 <br />
