Disposal cost for Alternatives C.1 and C.2 is the estimated <br />additional contract fee paid to the Foothill Landfill <br />operator. If waste currently hauled to Harney Lane Landfill <br />is hauled to Foothill Landfill, Foothill would receive 66% <br />more waste than currently received. The additional cost of <br />using Foothill is assumed to be 66% of the current contract <br />amount. The total cost is estimated to be $319,000/yr, which <br />includes administration and overhead formerly assigned to <br />Harney Lane Landfill, and the County credit, as shown below: <br />Contract amount (66% of $432,000/yr) $285,000/yr <br />Overhead formerly assigned to <br />Harney Land Landfill 46,000 <br />Credit (12,000) <br />Total $319,000/yr <br />Disposal costs for Alternatives D.1 and D.2 were developed in <br />the same way as for Alternatives A.1 and A.2. However, the <br />proposed central county landfill was assumed to be a 640 -acre <br />site to accommodate north and central county waste, instead of <br />320 acres for central county waste only. The cost of this <br />640 -acre site is based on the estimated costs for the new <br />Harney Lane Landfill with the following exceptions: <br />• Land acquisition cost is $3000/acre. <br />• Development cost is approximately 75% greater than the <br />new Harney Lane site, since there are some scale <br />economies for the larger site. <br />• Operating cost is 66% higher than the Harney Lane site, <br />for the same reason as the Foothill Landfill contract <br />discussed above. <br />The cost used in Table 4 is the additional amount required to <br />develop and operate the additional 320 acres assumed to be <br />required to accommodate north county waste: $437,000/yr. <br />W <br />
