7. <br />users of County disposal sites. <br />Ban on Disposal of Recyclable Materials <br />The County will consider an ordinance that <br />would ban certain or all recyclable materials from <br />the waste stream for residential, commercial, <br />and/or industrial waste generators. <br />The County will consider adopting an ordinance <br />that would require all businesses and developments <br />to prepare a solid waste plan, to be approved by <br />the County, that indicates the quantities of solid <br />and hazardous waste that will be generated, <br />diverted, and disposed, and stating the waste <br />diversion activities that will be practiced, and <br />the method of reporting the quantities to the <br />County. <br />This strategy was chosen because it would <br />require businesses to give some thought to how best <br />to manage their wastes to minimize disposal and the <br />accompanying costs, and maximize reuse and <br />recycling. <br />Market Development Program: <br />The County Solid Waste Office will actively <br />pursue securement and development of markets for <br />the various types of waste diverted by County <br />programs. Special attention will be given to <br />finding and developing non -transformation markets <br />for materials presently being transformed. <br />The County will work with other cities and <br />Chapter 4 - Recycling 46 <br />
