Different waste products <br />are found in the commercial and industrial waste streams <br />than in the residential waste stream, and different <br />methods will be used to get information to the commercial <br />and industrial sectors. <br />County staff will work with the cities whenever <br />possible to jointly develop educational materials and <br />implement programs targeting commercial and industrial <br />waste streams. <br />County staff will develop a program that provides <br />information to businesses and industries. Some of the <br />methods that may be used to disseminate information <br />include billing inserts, mail or telephone surveys, <br />Chamber of Commerce meetings or mailings, and attachments <br />to Business License Applications and renewals. <br />Information will be provided on the following <br />programs: <br />1. Source Separation of Recyclable Materials: <br />Businesses will be given information on and <br />encouraged to source separate recyclable materials <br />for separate collection. <br />2. Office Paper Recycling Programs: <br />Companies generating sufficient quantities of <br />computer paper and/or high quality office paper <br />will receive information on setting up office paper <br />recycling programs. <br />3. Materials Exchange Programs: <br />Companies discarding materials which other <br />companies could use will get information on <br />materials exchange programs.
