2.
f. Remaining Facility Capacity in Cubic Yards and
Years:
The site has no remaining capacity and no
longer receives waste for disposal.
North County Recycling Center and Sanitary Landfill:
The North County Recycling Center and Sanitary
Landfill was developed to replace the Harney Lane
Sanitary Landfill. It is located about two miles east
of the Harney Lane Sanitary Landfill, on Harney Lane.
It is a Class III landfill that has been constructed
with a bottom liner and leachate collection and
removal system. It began receiving waste in August of
1991.
Another feature of this facility is a 65,000
square foot building that serves as a recycling
center. Waste arriving at the landfill is deposited
on the floor of this facility, where it is sorted to
remove recyclables. The recyclable materials are
stored and transported to market and the remaining
waste is then sent to the working face of the
landfill.
This facility is used primarily by the
unincorporated North County area and the City of Lodi.
a. Identification of owner/operator:
The facility is owned and operated by the
County using County staff that had been
previously assigned to the Harney Lane Sanitary
Landfill.
Chapter 8 - Disposal Facility Capacity
n
