The waste quantities generated within
the unincorporated County was added to the waste quantities
that the Cities within the County reported they would
import to the County. This produced a total quantity of
waste to be handled by the County during the year. From
this figure, the quantities of waste to be diverted,
transformed,
and exported were subtracted to produce the
net disposal site capacity needed for each year. This
figure
was subtracted from the total disposal site capacity
available at the beginning of the year to derive the
available disposal site capacity at the end of the year.
The table indicates that only about 15% of the
County's disposal site capacity will be used during the
next fifteen years. Therefore, the County has sufficient
landfill capacity to handle the waste disposal needs of the
entire County for the next fifteen years.
Chapter 8 - Disposal Facility Capacity 15
Cl
