Component Strategies that Promote Integrated Waste <br />Management: <br />The County Integrated Waste Management Division will <br />coordinate the implementation of the following waste <br />diversion strategies so that the strategies compliment <br />one another, adding to the overall diversion of the <br />County's waste stream. <br />1. Source Reduction Strategies: <br />a. Continue existing source reduction practices <br />including diverting produce wastes to animal <br />feed, encouraging the repair and reuse of wood <br />pallets, using cloth grocery bags, promoting <br />the use of cloth diapers instead of disposable <br />diapers, and not collecting grass trimmings <br />when mowing lawns. <br />b. Institute an ongoing educational/ <br />informational program promoting source <br />reduction for residents and businesses. <br />C. Institute variable can rates in the <br />unincorporated area when franchise agreements <br />are renewed at the end of 1993. <br />d.
