Increase the efficiency of paper use in County <br />of f ices. <br />f. Review County procurement practices to <br />increase use of recycled materials. <br />g. Develop an ordinance requiring any new <br />business to submit a Solid Waste Management <br />Plan including source reduction. <br />2. Recycling Strategies: <br />a. Develop educational/ informational materials to <br />promote prudent consumer behavior, reuse, <br />recycling and composting generally, and target <br />individual programs specifically. <br />b. Retrieve recyclable and reusable materials at <br />solid waste disposal sites through manual <br />separation and establishment of drop-off <br />centers. <br />c. Promote residential source separation and <br />recycling through curbside collection, drop- <br />off centers, and buy-back programs. <br />d. Cooperate with the Cities to develop regional <br />markets for compost when possible. <br />3. Compost Strategies: <br />a. Develop and implement an ongoing education <br />program emphasizing source reduction and <br />source separation of yard wastes. <br />Chapter 10 - Integration 5 <br />
