t <br /> 3.04 APPLICATION <br /> A. General <br /> 1. Factory finished equipment shall require only one finish coat of <br /> paint. <br /> 2. Paint shall be applied in accordance with the manufacturer's <br /> approved methods and procedures. <br /> B. Brush Applications <br /> 1. Brush out and work the brush coats onto the surface in an even layer. <br /> 2. Cloudiness, spotting, holidays, laps, brush marks, runs, sags, <br /> ropiness, and other surface imperfections shall not be acceptable. <br /> C. Spray Application <br /> 1. Except as approved otherwise by the Engineer, spray application <br /> shall be confined to metal framework and similar surfaces where <br /> hand brush work is inferior. <br /> 2. Do not double back with spray equipment to build up film <br /> thickness of two coats in one pass. <br /> D. Latex Paint <br /> 1. Latex paint shall be applied by brushing or rolling; spraying will <br /> not be permitted. Latex paint shall not be thinned. <br /> E. Epoxy Enamel <br /> 1. The application of epoxy enamel,including temperature limitations <br /> and protection from sunlight until topcoated, shall conform to the <br /> recommendations of the paint manufacturer. <br /> F. Film Thickness <br /> 1. The total paint film thickness, including prime coat (if any), <br /> intermediate coats,and finish coat, shall be not less than 10 mils. <br /> G. Weather Conditions <br /> 1.
