SECTION 01565 <br />TEMPORARY FACILITIES <br />PART 1 GENERAL <br />1.01 SUMMARY <br />A. The Contractor shall provide temporary facilities and utilities required for <br />prosecution of the work, protection of employees and the public, <br />protection of the work from damage by fire, weather or vandalism, and <br />such other facilities as may be specified or required by an applicable law, <br />ordinance, rule, or regulation. <br />B. The cost for temporary facilities shall be included in the total bid price. <br />1.02 ELECTRICAL SERVICE <br />A. Construction hoists, elevators, scaffolds, stages, shoring and similar <br />temporary facilities shall be of ample size and capacity to adequately <br />support and move the loads to which they will be subjected. Railings, <br />enclosures, safety devices, and controls required by law or for adequate <br />protection of life and property shall be provided. <br />North County LFG Collection System 1 TEMPORARY FACRHMS <br />San Joaquin County Public works Section 01565 <br />A. Electrical power for construction is not available at the site. The <br />Contractor shall arrange for temporary utility power or supply a generator <br />capable of providing the power required to operate tools or equipment or <br />to provide area lighting as needed. Temporary power whether supplied by <br />a utility company or by a generator shall conform with the requirements of <br />the electrical section of these Specifications, the 2000 National Electrical <br />code, the 2000 National Electrical Safety code, and all applicable national <br />standards, local regulations, and ordinances. <br />B. The allowable hours of generator operation is the same as the regular <br />working hours for the project. Generators shall be fitted with a residential <br />quality muffler. <br />1.03 FIRST AID FACILITIES <br />A. Contractor shall provide first aid kits meeting the minimum requirements <br />of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and <br />California Occupational Safety and Health Administration (Cal -OSHA) in <br />a readily accessible location or locations. <br />1.04 CONSTRUCTION FACILEIMS <br />A.
