t1.05 STAGING AND SHORING <br />A. Temporary supports shall be designed with an adequate safety factor to <br />assure stability and adequate load bearing capacity. The Contractor shall <br />submit design calculations by a California registered Professional Civil or <br />' Structural Engineer practicing in their area of expertise and obtain required <br />permits for staging and shoring prior to the work. <br />IB. Trenches greater in depth than five (5) feet shall be shored or sloped prior <br />to entering per OSHA and Cal -OSHA requirements. <br />' 1.06 TEMPORARY ENCLOSURES <br />A. When any activity hazardous to property or the health of employees and <br />' the public is in progress, the area of activity shall be enclosed adequately <br />to contain the dust, over -spray, or other hazard. In the event there are not <br />permanent enclosures in the area, or such enclosures are incomplete or <br />' inadequate, the Contractor shall provide suitable temporary enclosures. <br />A. A sufficient number of fire extinguishers of the type and capacity required to <br />protect the site and ancillary facilities shall be provided by the Contractor in <br />readily accessible locations.
