The Work under this section shall include: <br />1. Trenching in Native Soil <br />2. Trenching in Refuse <br />3. Construct Berm Crossing <br />1.02 REFERENCES <br />A. Trenching shall comply with the applicable parts of Section 19 of the Standard <br />Specifications unless otherwise stated in the Plans and Specifications. <br />1.03 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS <br />A. The Contractor shall comply with all applicable regulations and shall protect open <br />excavations, trenches, holes, with fences, covers, or railing as required to maintain <br />safe pedestrian and/or vehicular traffic. <br />B. The Contractor shall notify Underground Service Alert (USA) at 1-800-642-2444, <br />five business days prior to beginning work to verify existing underground utilities' <br />locations. <br />C. The Contractor shall pot -hole and expose each potentially conflicting utility or <br />drainage structure prior to construction unless approved in writing by the <br />Engineer. Pot -holing shall not precede construction by more than 48 hours. <br />D. The Contractor shall be responsible for verifying underground utilities locations. <br />E.
