G. Wash Water <br />Contain wash water contaminated with cement. Such wash water may be spread on road areas <br />within the landfill sites as identified by the Landfill Site supervisor. <br />Contractor shall distribute cuttings in the general vicinity of the boring, conforming to the <br />approximate contours prior to the work. <br />1.05 ADDITIONAL WORK <br />Attention is directed to Sections 4-1.03, "Changes," and 9-1.03, "Force Account Payment," of the <br />Standard Specifications and these special provisions. <br />The contract item "force account" shall be work not included in the unit prices, as directed by the <br />Engineer. Contractor shall obtain written authorization for any such work. <br />If a directive by the Engineer, whether written or verbal, seems to the Contractor to be a change <br />of contract scope, the Contractor shall immediately call the Engineer's attention to that <br />interpretation. Failure of the Contractor to call the attention of the Engineer to such a directive is <br />acceptance by the Contractor of that directive as a contract change at no additional cost and at <br />no additional contract time. <br />PART 2 - MATERIALS <br />2.01 SUBMITTALS <br />When a manufacturer of an item is identified, the Contractor may install that item from that <br />manufacturer without submittal. <br />The Contractor shall submit information on parts or materials that differ from that identified in this <br />contract. Contractor shall submit a minimum three (3) copies of the submittal; the Engineer will <br />retain two copies, returning the remainder to the Contractor. <br />Submittals shall be dated and clearly indicate the item proposed for substitution. <br />All submittals shall be made to the Engineer. Allow five working days for review of the submittal <br />by the Engineer. <br />Contractor shall not install the item in question until the submittal has been accepted by the <br />Engineer. <br />2.02 PROPS PIPE AND FITTINGS <br />A. Probe Valve <br />Probe pipe valve shall be a Stopcock Valve, comprised of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), <br />brass or stainless steel.
