Harney Lane Landfill
HLSL is a single, closed, unlined Class III landfill located at 14750
E Harney Lane in Lodi, California. The landfill covers approximately 127
acres, which consists of one 97 -acre primary site and a 15 -acre secondary
site. The remaining property area is comprised of access roads, storm
water retention ponds, setbacks for environmental monitoring, and
firebreaks. HLSL was closed in 1996 and now is under postclosure
maintenance.
1. Geology and Hydrogeology
GW is first encountered approximately 120 feet below the surface at
HLSL, and fluctuates approximately 4 feet during a year. The average
GW elevation is decreasing steadily over time.
B. North County Recycling Center And Sanitary Landfill
NCRCSL is located at 17720 East Harney Lane, approximately nine miles
east of Lodi. It is a single solid waste management unit, designated Class
III, accepting non -hazardous municipal solid waste and inert waste. The
site is 185 acres in area, comprised of lined modules, each constructed on
an as -needed basis. The landfill is expected to close in 2032, based on
current disposal rates and current permitted capacity.
1. Geology and Hydrogeology
The GW monitoring well network at NCRSL consists of up -gradient well
G-1 and down -gradient wells G -3D, G-4, G-5, and G-6. Depth of GW is
145 to 157 feet below ground surface at NCRCSL and fluctuates
approximately 6 feet a year.
Work Plan- Groundwater Monitoring Well Installation San Joaquin County
May7, 2013 Department Of Public Works
1 Solid Waste Division
