h. . Appliances include items such as refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, water coolers, washers, dryers, ovens, stoves, furnaces, <br />space heaters, water heaters, and trash compactors. Materials requiring special handling include materials such as Freon, mercury <br />probes and switches, used oil, metal encased capacitors, and encased PCBs or DEHP from appliance compressors and <br />transmissions. The Certified Appliance Recycler (CAR) inspects each major appliance in the appliance staging area for materials <br />that require special handling. Materials requiring special handling are temporarily stored at the NCR&SL before removal to <br />permitted facilities. <br />i. The waste load checking program should be consist of the following activities: Inspection of random in -coming loads; training of <br />facility personnel in hazardous waste recognition and proper hazardous waste handling procedures; reporting incidents of unlawful <br />disposal to specific agencies.
