Well screen shall be <br />factory -cut slots. <br />2.04 SAN® PACK <br />The sand pack shall be free of debris or organic impurities. <br />2.05 BENTONITE SEAL <br />The bentonite seal shall consist of sodium montmorillonite clay. Granular size <br />shall be based on drilling method. <br />2.06 NEAT CEMENT <br />The neat cement shall consist of Portland Type II cement, or equivalent, and <br />bentonite mixture with a water -to -cement ratio that includes no more than 8 <br />gallons of water per sack of cement and 5 percent bentonite by weight. <br />2.07 CONCRETE <br />The concrete shall have minimum of 28 -day compressive strength of 2500 psi. <br />2.08 WELL PLUG <br />Well plug shall be expansion type plug which provides a water tight seal. <br />2.09 WELL ENCLOSURE <br />A. The well enclosure shall be a minimum 8"x 8" square, made of galvanized steel <br />and shall have a lockable cover with a padlock. The cover shall open and close <br />smoothly. <br />B. The well enclosure shall be painted with etching primer, then painted with two (2) <br />coats of YELLOW rust inhibitive paint. Etching primer may be applied at the <br />Contractor's shop. Final coats of yellow rust inhibitive paint shall be applied in <br />the field after installation of the enclosure in the presence of the Engineer. <br />C. The well enclosure shall be labeled based on the well number.
