collecting of disposable waste, the landfill recycles about 8% of non <br />biodegradable materials that come into the recycling facility. The recycled <br />materials are transferred off site to industrial recycling facilities. The <br />landfill currently permitted to take in a maximum 825 tons of refuse per day. <br />North County Recycling Center and Sanitary Landfill receives an average of 14 <br />inches of precipitation per year. The site waste discharge report indicated <br />the 100 -year, 24-hour precipitation event for the site is 3.65 inches. <br />Figure A is a USGS topographic map which shows the site and the area within <br />1/4 mile of the site boundary. Existing surface water channels, South Paddy <br />Creek, pass through site. South Paddy Creek is an intermittent winter flow <br />waterway. <br />The landfill is bordered by Harney Lane Road on the north, and pasture lands <br />on the south, east, and west.
