Appendix B
SAMPLING AND ANALYSIS PROCEDURES
INTRODUCTION
The sampling and analysis procedures for the soil and ground-water
monitoring program for the Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill are con-
tained in this appendix. Procedures and techniques for sample collec-
tion, analytical procedures, and chain-of-custody control are present-
ed. These procedures are recommended so that (1) consistent _and
reproducible methods are used to o tain samples from soil borings and
monitoring wells and (2) proper analyses are performed on the samples.
The sampling and analysis procedures are in accordance with Title 23,
Subchapter 15, Sections 2500 through 2601 of the California Adminis-
trative Code. The procedures described in this appendix are based on
• procedures Manual fur round-Water Monitoring at Solid
Waste Dis steal Facilities (EPA-530/SW-611, August 1977)
• Test Methods for Eyalua in Solid Waster Phvsical
Control Methods (EPA SW-846, 3rd edition, November 1986)
• thods for Organic Chemical Analysis of Munici ap 1 and
Industrial Wastewater (EPA-600/4-82/057, July 1982)
SOIL SAMPLING AND ANALYSIS PROCEDURES
Sample Collection
Wells MW-4 and MW-5 and Borings SB-I, SB-2, and SB-3, (additional soil
borings recommended by the RWQC , letter of March 9, 1988) will be
drilled using 8-inch-diameter, continuous-flight, hollow-stem auger
drilling equipment. Wells MW-2 and -3 will be drilled using the
air-rotary casing hammer method.
PJ9 9390313.000 -
