weighing and/or inspection. <br /> Periodic household hazardous waste collection. separation and temporary storage for off-site <br /> dispQsal: household hazardous waste will be collected through the hazardous waste screening <br /> program and stored in an approved hazardous waste storage container. An area may also be <br /> provided and be available for periodic household hazardous waste collection events coordinated <br /> � by San Joaquin County. During those events, trained personnel would be present to receive and <br /> identify potentially hazardous substances from residential sources and label and package them <br /> for transporting rtin off-site. <br /> DiWsal area for cannery "tomato mud" and wastes: cannery "tomato mud" and wastes will be <br /> received at the facility during the canning season. Material will be placed at the northern end <br /> �9 of the site, spread in thin layers to dry and disced into the soil. <br /> Total material handling requirements for the facility are designed to process an average of 800 <br /> and a peak of 1,000 tons per day delivered to the site. Of this 800 tpd of total material, <br /> approximately 170 tpd is estimated to be separated yard and wood waste suitable for composting <br /> or other processing. The compost pad and equipment will be expanded over time as incoming <br /> volumes are increased. <br /> B. SITE LOCATION <br /> 1. SITE LOCATION MAP <br /> The Composting Facility is located within the same parcel as the MRF/Transfer Station and is <br /> adjacent to the MRF/Transfer Station. The facility is located about 4 miles south of the City <br /> of Tracy in the unincorporated area of San Joaquin County, (see Figure 1). The MRF/Transfer <br /> Station and Composting Facility, identified as APN 253-130-19, is located within the northeast <br /> quarter of Section 16, Township 3 South, Range 5 East, M.D.B.M. and is approximately 39.2 <br /> acres in size and is located on the west side of MacArthur Drive south of Linne Road. The site <br /> address is 30703 South MacArthur Drive, Tracy, CA. <br /> 2. SITING CONSIDERATIONS <br /> The majority of the site consists of a large pit, approximately 30 to 40 feet deep, that was <br /> previously used for gravel mining operations. Gravel mining occurred between 1971 and 1975 <br /> by Lone Star Industries. The site was reclaimed and reseeded by Lone Star in 1986.
