EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE
All equipment will be inspected and maintained in accordance with manufacturer
recommendations and OSHA requirements. Operators and supervisors will monitor the
operation of equipment they are using. If any problems are identified or suspected the
equipment will be identified to the maintenance shop manager. Equipment requiring repairs will
not be used until repairs are completed. Operation and maintenance plans will be developed
based on equipment vendor recommendations.
Priority attention will be given to the maintenance of the tub grinder and windrow turner so that
normal operations are not impeded. Required maintenance will be performed in the field
immediately or during non-operating hours to minimize downtime. The equipment maintenance
program will be an integral part of the timely processing of organic material through the facility.
It will ensure that equipment is always available to keep the organic material in an aerobic
condition and prevent anaerobic conditions which generate odors.
3.
