5. Discharge into surface waters,
or in any alteration of surface
water quality, including but
not limited to temperature,
dissolved oxygen or turbidity? X
6. Alteration of the direction or
rate of flow of ground waters X
7. Change in the quantity of
ground waters, either through
direct additions or with-
drawals, or through intercep-
tion of an aquifer by cuts
or excavations? X
8. Substantial reduction in the
amount of water otherwise
available for public water
supplies? X
9. Exposure of people or property
to water related hazards such
as flooding or tidal waves? X
D. Discussion of Evaluation
The project is located outside of the 100 or 500 year flood boundary of any
waterway. As such, the risk of flood hazards in the area are considered
negligible.
Sufficient City water exists to meet demands of the facility.
The anticipated increase in water consumption at the site during construction
and completion of the project will not significantly affect the City water
supply.
E. Mitigation
Connection to improved City facilities at the time deemed necessary by the
Public Works Department will mitigate this impact.
Oil and grease traps should be installed to handle runoff from other surfaces
than the transfer building.
25
