IV. PLANTIANIMAL LIFE
A. Description
The project is located in a transition zone between urbanized area and land
which historically had been farmed. As a result, lands in the project vicinity
are being urbanized with low intensity industrial land uses, and no significant
agricultural activity occurs in the area. There is very little or no native
vegetation left in the project area, and neither the 1982 General Plan or 1987
Residential Areas Specific Plan MEIR's identify any unique or endangered
plant or animal species on the project site.
B. Change in the diversity of
species, or number of any
species of plants
(including trees, shrubs,
grass, crops, and aquatic
plants)? X
2. Reduction of the numbers of
any unique, rare or
endangered species or plants? X
3. Introduction of new species of
plants into an area, or in a
barrier to the normal replen-
ishment of existing species? X
4. Reduction in acreage of any
agricultural crop? X
5. Change in the diversity of
species, or numbers of any
species of animals (birds,
land animals including
reptiles, fish and shellfish,
benthic organisms or insects?
