7. Introduction of new species of
animals into an area, or result
in a barrier to the migration
or movement of animals? X
8. Deterioration of existing fish
or wildlife habitat X
C. Discussion of Evaluation
The land in question was used for agricultural practices in the past. During
this period preexisting plant and animal life were disturbed and replaced.
Today the site is volunteer grasses growing in patches.
The site is designated Light Industrial under the 1982 General Plan. The
MSIR for the General Plan identified no impacts on plant and animal life as
a result of developing site. Therefore, no mitigations are required.
V. NOISE
A. Description
Noise levels within the City of Tracy on the major street network were
measured in 1981 and reported in the General Plan. The data showed that
on residential streets, the noise levels are conditionally acceptable for
residential use. Noise levels along commercial streets were higher, but
generally acceptable.
The subject site is generally surrounded by industrial land uses to the west,
east and north. The Interstate 205 freeway is located approximately 300 feet
to the south. The only sensitive receptor is the residence adjacent to the
west which is situated on property zoned for industrial use.
B. Environmental Impacts
Will the proposal result in: Yes MUbe No
1. Increases in existing noise
level? X
2. Exposure of people to severe
noise levels? X
C. Discussion of Evaluation
Activities on the premises will generate additional noise. However, there are
no noise sensitive uses within close proximity that will be adversely affected.
Non-conforming residential development to the west of the project area will
be adequately buffered by the enclosure within which activities will be
conducted.
27
