The Field <br /> Engineers for the SJDPW will be Wes Johnson and Michael Selling. <br /> 3.2.8 Quality Control Technicians <br /> Day-to-day observation, sampling, and testing of borrow soils and compacted in-place soil will be <br /> approved by the QC Technician(s). Their role is critical to the success of construction and to the <br /> creation of the required support documents. Their responsibilities include: <br /> ® Observation of starting conditions <br /> • Observation of import red clay soil, and obtaining samples of such materials for <br /> verification testing <br /> • Observation and testing of import stockpile materials <br /> ® Observation of prepared subgrade ready for placement of the foundation layer <br /> • Observation of compactive effort <br /> • Collection of samples for laboratory testing <br /> • Transportation of samples to the laboratory under controlled conditions of packaging and <br /> transportation <br /> • Carry out various standard field tests <br /> • Report nonconformance to the Chief QC Technician and construction personnel when <br /> correction can be made during the normal course of the work <br /> GSM.md CH195 Page 14 of 31 July 14, 1995 <br /> 20-1008-36(CQACOP) Copyright 1995,Kleinfelder,Inc. <br />
