SCOPE OF WORK AND TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS <br />On -Call LFG System Maintenance Contractor <br />PART 1 -GENERAL <br />I. Definitions <br />A. County: San Joaquin County Public Works Department Solid Waste Division. <br />B. Engineer: The authorized representative of the County. <br />C. Standard Specifications: Standard Specifications of the State of California <br />Department of Transportation May 2006. <br />D. EHD: Environmental Health Department of San Joaquin County <br />II. General Requirements <br />A. The work identified herein shall be in accordance with the Standard Specifications of <br />the California State Department of Transportation dated May 2006. <br />B. County will provide the Contractor a written notice a minimum of five (5) working days <br />prior to the needed maintenance work. Work shall commence no later than ten <br />working days after receipt of notice or as otherwise agreed with the Contractor in <br />recognition of delivery time of needed parts and equipment. <br />C. Notifications to the County by the Contractor shall be made in writing and shall be <br />signed by the Contractor. <br />D. Contractor shall follow instructions from the County when doing work. Contractor <br />shall call to the County's attention directives that do not, in the Contractor's opinion, <br />fall within the scope or the work to which unit prices apply. <br />E. Contractor shall obtain drilling permits as needed from the EHD. Contractor shall <br />present these permits to the Engineer prior to drilling. Drilling may not proceed until <br />the drilling permits are presented to the Engineer. <br />F. Contractor shall submit a Health and Safety Plan to the EHD. Work may start when <br />this Health and Safety Plan is found adequate by the EHD. <br />III. EHD Inspection <br />A. The following work shall be in the presence of San Joaquin County Environmental <br />Health Department (EHD) Unit 6 inspectors. The Contractor shall contact and notify <br />EHD Unit 6 inspectors a minimum 48 hours before the need of inspection. <br />1. Installation of LFG wells (placement of materials in the completed borehole) <br />2.
