Fasteners (bolts, nuts, washers, etc.) for riser pipe supports and riser pipe caps shall <br />be stainless steel. <br />F. Mechanical connections must be approved by the Engineer and may consist of <br />sleeves, socket, screw, or heat -shrink connections. <br />2.04 EQUIPMENT <br />A. Equipment for handling, welding, and laying HDPE pipe shall be as recommended <br />by the Pipe Manufacturer. <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 SURFACE CONDITIONS <br />A. Examine the areas and conditions under which work of this Section will be <br />performed. Correct conditions detrimental to timely and proper completion of the <br />Work. Notify the Engineer of such conditions and proposed corrective actions <br />before correcting unsatisfactory conditions. Do not proceed until unsatisfactory <br />conditions are corrected. <br />3.02 PIPE INSTALLATION <br />A. The HDPE pipe couplings and fittings shall be cleaned of all foreign material such <br />as dirt, grease, oil, or moisture prior to placement. <br />B. The HDPE pipe shall be laid in a manner that does not damage pipe or underlying <br />geosynthetics. <br />C. The HDPE pipe shall be laid to the lines and grades shown on the plans. <br />D. HDPE Pipe installation procedures shall provide for the least possible amount of <br />lifting and moving. <br />E. HDPE fittings shall not be used as the point of attachment for a lifting or pulling <br />line. <br />3.03 PIPE CONNECTIONS <br />A.
