5.0 Construction Quality Assurance for Geosynthetics and HDPE Piping <br /> This section describes CQA procedures for installing geos nthetic materials as part of the <br /> Extension of Closure Cap of the CHLF. Specific geosynthetic materials to be installed include: <br /> • Geocomposite drainage layer <br /> • Linear-Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) geomembrane <br /> • HDPE pipe <br /> This manual stresses careful documentation during the quality assurance process, from the <br /> verification of materials through the installation. The project construction specifications establish <br /> the test frequencies for geosynthetics construction quality assurance. <br /> 5.1 Geocomposite Drain Material <br /> 5.1.1 Delivery <br /> The CQA Monitor shall verify the following: <br /> • Equipment used to unload the rolls does not damage the geocomposite. <br /> • Care is used in unloading and stacking the rolls (consistent with the Manufacturer's <br /> recommendations). <br /> • All documentation required by the specifications has been received. <br /> • The Geosynthetics Received Log is completed(Appendix A). <br /> At the CQA Monitor or County's discretion, damaged rolls may be rejected. Rejected rolls shall <br /> be removed from the site or stored at a location designated by the CQA Monitor, separate from <br /> accepted rolls. All rolls that do not have proper manufacturer's documentation shall also be <br /> stored at a set location until all documentation has been received and approved. <br /> 5.1.2 Conformance Testing <br /> After delivery, unless otherwise specified, the CQA Monitor shall obtain samples for <br /> confolmance testing. <br /> ' Sample Procedures. The sample shall be taken across the entire roll width and shall not include <br /> the first two feet. Unless otherwise specified, the sample shall be three feet long by the roll <br /> width. The CQA Monitor shall mark the machine direction, the manufacturer's roll identification <br /> number, and the date the sample was obtained on the sample.
