Engineer of any roll that cannot be identified. The Engineer shall reject that roll. The CQA
Monitor will send the sample to the Geosynthetics Testing Laboratory.
Tests. The following tests will be conducted by the CQA Monitor at a minimum of one test per
100,000 square feet installed on the geonet core characteristics:
® Thickness (ASTM D5199)
The following tests shall be conducted at a minimum of one test per 100,000 square feet installed
on the geocomposite material:
® Routine transmissivity(ASTM D4715)
® Ply Adhesion(ASTM D7005)
The following test shall be conducted on a randomly selected conformance sample:
® One design transmissivity (ASTM D4716) shall be performed on the Geocomposite
Drain Material
When optional procedures are noted in the test method, the specification requirements shall
prevail. The CQA Monitor will review all test results and report any nonconformance to the
CQA Manager, and Engineer. The Engineer will notify the Contractor. If the Engineer is not
available, the CQA Monitor will notify the Contractor of this apparent non-conformance.
5.1.3 Installation
Surface Preparation. Before geocomposite installation, the CQA Monitor will verify that:
® All lines and grades have been verified by a qualified surveyor.
' ® The underlying geomembrane has been completely approved.
Geocomposite Placement. During geocomposite placement, the CQA Staff shall:
® Observe the underlying surface for particles that may impact the geocomposite or
geonet.
® Verify that equipment used in deployment does not damage the geocomposite/geonet
or underlying geomembrane.
1 ® Verify that geocomposite is deployed down, not across, slopes.
• Verify that the geonet of adjacent rolls are overlapped and tied with plastic fasteners
per specification requirements.
• Verify that the geotextile layers are overlapped, and that the top layers are
' continuously sewn or heat bonded per specification requirements.
CH CQA Plan 041712 Rev2a.doc 5.2 Construction QualityAssurance Plan
