3.0 Proposed Schedule
A significant factor in the schedule is whether the County can gain access to the neighboring
properties to perform the proposed investigation. The County intends that the driller will be
scheduled after the issue of access is resolved.
Usually, engaging a drilling contractor requires a competitive bid through San Joaquin County's
Purchasing Department. To reduce the time needed, Shaw will invite competitive bids from pre-
qualified bidders. The Public works Department (Solid Waste Division)will ask that the
Purchasing Department issue a Purchase Order to the driller with the lowest bid, an approach
approved by the Purchasing Department.
Assuming approval by RWQCB staff and the staff of the San Joaquin County Environmental
Health Department, and permission to enter the neighboring properties to perform the
investigation, the following schedule is proposed:
• Two weeks to obtain bids from pre-qualified bidders
• Two weeks to issue a Purchase Order by the Purchasing Department. Application for
drilling permits and locating underground utilities will occur concurrently.
• Two week to schedule the drill rig.
• One week to sample the groundwater and soil gas in the bore holes, and install MW-8.
• Three weeks for soil gas and groundwater analysis. Well survey will be concurrent.
• Two weeks to prepare the Evaluation Monitoring Report.
Based on this estimate, weather permitting, the work can be completed approximately twelve
week after approval of the work plan.
Corral Hollow EMP WP.DOC 3-1
