m <br />1.0 FINAL COVER <br />The final cover for the closure cap extension project will be in accordance with section <br />8.0. The closure cap extension project final cover will involve construction tasks listed <br />below. <br />The surface soil in the closure cap extension area will be removed expose the <br />foundation layer. The surface of the foundation layer will be graded relatively <br />even, with no sharp grade breaks or objects, and compacted smooth with a <br />minimum slope of two percent away from the landfill. Soil excavated during <br />foundation layer preparation will be stockpiled near the entrance gate of the landfill <br />and later used as vegetative cover. <br />-GCL will abut the existing closure cap (Figure 5). GCL will be placed per CQA <br />specifications. <br />A vegetative soil layer will be placed over the GCL (Figure 4). Stockpiled soil, <br />from the sub -grade excavation, will be used for vegetative cover. Additional soil <br />will be excavated from on-site retention pond 1 (Figure 2). Water trucks will <br />provide dust control and moisture as needed. The final surface of the extension <br />cover area will be compacted, per CQA specifications, and graded to the required <br />slope. <br />As identified in section 8.0, a CQA plan will be prepared for the closure cap extension <br />project.
