The California Integrated Waste
Management Board (CIWMB) has approved the City to do a one year
alternative daily cover (ADC) demonstration project beginning
January 3, 1993. The synthetic "blanket", Covertech C-440, will be
used Monday - Thursday to cover the refuse. Soil will be applied on
Friday of each week. The project is subject to compliance with all
conditions set forth in CIWMB's November 19, 1993 approval letter.
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division, the Local
Enforcement Agency, will monitor the effectiveness of the project.
Stockpiling of Asphalt/Concrete (A/C) Grindings
The City's Public Works Operations and Maintenance Division
stockpiles A/C grindings on the 7.7 AC parcel in the northeast
corner of the site (see Figure 1 in RDSI. This parcel lies outside
the landfill "footprint". The landfill operator uses the grindings
as a base material for landfill haul roads.
AMENDMENT TO SUBSURFACE INFORMATION (GEOLOGY)- PAGE 19 OF RDSI
Site Geologic Map and Geologic Cross Section
A regional geologic map and geologic cross section is attached and
made a part of the RDSI.
AMENDMENT TO SUBSURFACE INFORMATION (HYDROGEOLOGY)- PAGE 20 OF RDSI
Groundwater Flow Direction and Gradient Calculations
Groundwater velocity calculations and a groundwater contour map
used to determine groundwater flow direction is attached and made
a part of the RDSI.
