In the MW Installation Report, the Discharger presents
as -built details for wells installed in January 2007 at the Cove Contractors Landfill
(Discharger). The Discharger is required to submit well installation reports under the Cleanup
and Abatement Order No. R5-2006-0707 and Waste Discharge Requirements Order
No. R5-2007-0084 (WDRs).
The Discharger provided the date of installation, well development details, a land surveyor's
field report and instrument printout (stamped and signed), tabulated analytical results, maps
showing concentrations for barium and arsenic, well construction diagrams, Stiff diagrams,
and laboratory reports.
Based on staffs review, the MW Installation Report is satisfactory. Staff appreciates the
presentation of analytical data, in particular the side-by-side comparison of data from the
abandoned wells versus the new wells.
Staff notes that the Discharger included the information required by Attachment C to the
Cleanup and Abatement Order. For all future monitoring well installation reports, please
provide the information required in Attachment C to the WDRs.
The Discharger has not submitted the monitoring well installation report for the landfill gas
wells. The report is past due. The Discharger must submit the report by 21 April 2008, and
must include the applicable information for gas wells required by Attachment C to the WDRs.
California Environmental Protection Agency
QaRecycled Paper
