2.2.3 Communications <br /> Typical on-site communications may be conducted through the use of: <br /> ® Verbal <br /> ❑ Two-way radio ❑ Horn <br /> ® Cellular telephone ❑ Siren <br /> ® Hand signals ❑ Other: <br /> Off-site communications may be conducted through the use of: <br /> N Cellular telephone Verify cell phone reception in all work areas prior to starting work. <br /> ❑ Site Phone: Location&No. <br /> ❑ Pay phone: Location&No. <br /> ❑ Other: <br /> 2.2.5 Visitors <br /> Visitors will not be allowed past the Support Zone (if such a zone is established at this Site) <br /> unless they read, understand, sign, and abide by the requirements outlined in this HASP. <br /> 2.3 Worker Training <br /> Table 2 will be used to document on-site workers who have received the appropriate training <br /> according to the company Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) Training Program. Table <br /> 2 must be completed prior to initiation of field activities. Pre-work briefing and routine tailgate <br /> meetings will be conducted to facilitate on-site training. <br /> 2.4 Safety Meetings <br /> Project personnel who will be involved with on-site field activities must be appropriately trained <br /> in accordance with 29 CFR Part 1910.120 "Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency <br /> Response". Before field work begins, the SSO will review the HASP with the field workers <br /> addressing the potential hazards associated with the proposed field activities. Components of the <br /> safety meeting will include a review of the following: <br /> • Potential chemical, operational and physical hazards present at the site. <br /> • Personal protective equipment(PPE)/personal protection procedures. <br /> • Hazardous materials handling procedures. <br /> • Buddy system. <br /> • Personal hygiene -general guidelines. <br /> • Personal and equipment decontamination procedures. <br /> • Emergency response procedures. <br /> • Symptom awareness. <br /> 11 <br />
