• Stop Work Authority <br /> Periodic meetings with project personnel may be conducted by the SSO pending changes to the <br /> scope of work or modification to this HASP. To document the meetings, the SSO will complete <br /> the Site Safety Meeting Minutes Form provided in Appendix A. <br /> 2.5 Medical Monitoring Requirements <br /> OSHA requires medical monitoring for personnel potentially exposed to chemical hazards at <br /> concentrations in excess of the PEL for more than 30 days per year and for personnel who must <br /> use respiratory protection for more than 30 days per year. <br /> Will personnel working at this site be enrolled in a medical monitoring program? ❑ Yes ® No <br /> 2.6 Hazard Communication Requirements <br /> When chemicals are used on-site, EarthCon workers must adhere to the company's Hazard <br /> Communication Program (29 CFR §1910.1200). The following procedures must be followed for <br /> chemicals brought on-site(i.e.,decontamination solution,sampling preservatives,etc.): <br /> • Labels on incoming primary chemical containers must not be defaced (until after the <br /> container is empty,decontaminated and ready for disposal). <br /> • Chemical containers must be stored in appropriate storage cabinets. <br /> • Secondary containers and storage cabinets must be correctly and clearly labeled using the <br /> Hazardous Materials Identification System(HMIS). <br /> • Incompatible chemicals must not be stored together. <br /> • Workers must receive training on the hazards of these chemicals as indicated in Table 2. <br /> • Containers must be secured closed unless adding to or removing something from the <br /> container. <br /> • Safety Data Sheets for the chemicals should be recent and are included in Appendix B.;they <br /> should be made available to workers upon request. <br /> • Workers must receive training on the hazards of the chemicals as indicted in Table 4. <br /> 3.0 GENERAL PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS <br /> General safe work practices that must be implemented during work activities at this site are <br /> included in Table 3. <br /> 3.1 Performance Requirements <br /> • Any unsafe equipment, condition or work practice and injuries, no matter how slight, <br /> must be reported to the SSO immediately. <br /> • Procedures for the proper set up and control of the worksite task area should be planned <br /> and implemented prior to starting individual tasks. <br /> • Field personnel must have ready access to a telephone and a vehicle in case of <br /> emergency. <br /> 12 <br />
