❑ Emergency Blanket ® Sunscreen(as needed) <br /> ® Insect Repellent(as needed)❑Other: ointment for poison plants and insect <br /> bites <br /> • Copious amounts of cool potable water shall be readily available for both drinking purposes and <br /> for personal hygiene purposes(e.g.,washing,rinsing,and cooling of face and body,etc.). <br /> • Emergency references (e.g., nearest phone, emergency phone numbers and services, etc.) shall <br /> accompany the first aid kit. <br /> • Communication equipment such as a cellular phone will be accessible in case of an <br /> emergency. <br /> • A vehicle shall be easily accessible for transport/emergency. <br /> The emergency response communication system for the site is: <br /> ® Verbal <br /> ❑ Two-way radio <br /> ® Hand signals: Hand gripping throat="Out of Air, Can't Breathe" <br /> Grip partner's wrist or both hands around waist="Leave area immediately" <br /> Hands on top of head="Need assistance" <br /> Thumps up="OK; I am all right; I understand" <br /> Thumps down="No; negative" <br /> ❑ Horn <br /> ❑ Siren <br /> ® Other: Cellular Phone <br /> If an on-site emergency develops, the procedures outlined in Table 7 shall be followed <br /> immediately. <br /> 7.1 Natural Disasters <br /> In the event of emergency conditions associated with natural disasters, such as severe weather, site <br /> personnel will remain calm, turn off equipment and ignition sources, and move away from buildings, <br /> cranes, and overhead utilities. Following an emergency, personnel will proceed to a designated meeting <br /> place. The SSO will take a head count to ensure that all personnel are present. Crews must remain <br /> together until accounted for. The SSO will assess injuries and the need for emergency assistance. <br /> 7.2 Workplace Violence <br /> If any employee or visitor is confronted by a potentially hostile person, he/she will remain calm <br /> and refrain from further aggravating the individual. Site personnel should contact the SSO. <br /> Protocol established by the site will be followed or local police will be contacted for assistance <br /> when needed. <br /> 19 <br />
