INTEGRATED WASTE MANAGEMENT TASK
COUNTY OF SAN JOAQUIN
P. 0. BOX 1810, STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA 95201
PHONE (209)968-3066 FAX (209)968-3078
May 22, 1997
Ed Padilla, Senior Registered
Environmental Health Specialist
Public Health Services
Environmental Health Division
Post Office Box 388
Stockton, California 95201
Subject: PROPOSED BTI COMPOST FACILITY
IN CITY OF MANTECA
Dear Mr. Padilla:
FORCE
l
On May 22, 1997, the San Joaquin County Integrated Waste Management Task Force
reviewed the compost facility proposed by Biorecycling Technologies
Incorporated (BTI), located at 2403 West Louise Avenue, in the City of
Manteca, in accordance with Section 50001, Division 31, of the Public
Resources Code.
It is the understanding of the Task Force that the proposed facility will be
capable of handling up to 440 tons of green waste per day and will process
green waste generated by municipal and commercial haulers. Compost produced
will be marketed to agricultural users by BTI.
It is the intent of BTI to provide composting services to jurisdictions within
and outside of San Joaquin County. Consequently, the facility will be
available to help San Joaquin County jurisdictions meet their waste diversion
goals.
Based on the above understanding, the Task Force has concluded that the
proposed project is consistent with the goals and policies established by the
Task Force for San Joaquin County integrated waste management.
Any questions should be directed to Tom Horton, San Joaquin County Integrated
Waste Manager, at (209)468-3066.
Si cerely,
F
f
GEORGE L.
