INTRODUCTION
This initial study consists of a proposal from California Waste Removal Systems Inc.,
to expand it's solid waste transfer station/resource recovery and recycling facility at
1333 East Turner Road, Lodi CA. The facility serves the City of Lodi, northern San
Joaquin County, and southern Sacramento County. Both commercial and public vehicles
utilize the facility.
This report consists of a detailed project description, description of the environmental
setting, an Environmental Checklist Form, and a discussion of the impacts identified on
the form. As such, this report conforms to the Initial Study guidelines of the California
Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), as adopted by the City of Lodi.
The primary concerns and the emphasis of this Initial Study include the following:
1. Impacts due to increased traffic.
2. Impacts due to increased noise.
These as well as other specific topics of environmental concern are addressed within the
P P
discussions of the environmental information form and checklist.
1
t
