The station has a current design capacity of 640 tons per day. This is based on being <br /> capable of operating 4 trucks, each hauling 8 loads per day weighing 20 tons per load. <br /> The resource recovery operation is supplemented by a buy back operation located in the <br /> area shown on Figure 5. The public drops off its newspaper, aluminum cans, plastic and <br /> glass bottles, and used oil. Salvaging by the public is prohibited. <br /> Approximately 20 percent of the current incoming waste stream is removed and recycled. <br /> Seasonal agricultural wastes such as peach pits are spread and dried, and sold for energy <br /> recovery. Special wastes such as infectious wastes, dead animals, septic tank pumpings <br /> sewage sludge, etc. are not received at the station. Hazardous wastes are not received. <br /> The transfer station is open to the public from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 7 days per week. <br /> The station is closed to the public on major holidays. Recycling operations are <br /> conducted at the station approximately 12 hours per day to complete the daily recycling <br /> goals. Shop and equipment personnel are present at the site 18 to 20 hours per day for <br /> equipment upkeep and maintenance. <br /> Sanitaryfacilities are available at the processing building as well as the office. Potable <br /> P g <br /> water is supplied through City of Lodi water supply. <br /> No complaints regarding excessive noise at the site have been received. The processing <br /> areas are enclosed and the area around the facility is zoned industrial with an adjacent <br /> park to the northwest. <br /> The time table for the proposed CEQA review process is as follows: <br /> Activity Due Date <br /> Initial Study Completed <br /> Draft E.I.R. June 1, 1991 <br /> Revised Permit Appilcation June 15, 1991 <br /> Construction activities will proceed as soon as possible after the permit application has <br /> been revised. These activities will probably begin during the month of July 1991 and are <br /> expected to continue for three to four months with completion of the project in October <br /> or November, 1991. The continued operation of the transfer station is not expected to <br /> be hampered by the construction activities at the site. <br /> 8 <br />
