3-2
The load checking program (Appendix E) is explained in detail to all site personnel who are
involved with the inspection of waste, including the gate attendant, load inspectors, RRF
workers, and equipment operators. These employees also attend a 24-hour hazardous waste
operations and safety course, as well as an annual refresher course. The course emphasizes
familiarity with containers and labels typically used for hazardous waste and other materials.
All new employees are enrolled in the course at the earliest available class after they are hired.
Specific emergency response and evacuation procedures for all Forward employees and
members of the emergency response team are covered in the training sessions conducted at
the site throughout the year. A record of personnel training is maintained either at the RRF
or landfill administration office for future reference during facility inspections.
3.1.1.2 Emergency Contact (14 CCR, Section 17410.2)
In accordance with 14 CCR, Section 17410.2, an emergency contact list must be provided
to the LEA and local fire authority in the event of an emergency situation.
