This is
hazard to workers
In the event of breakdown of the primary baler the backup baler is
used if the downtime is such that would create an amount of
material that could not be processed within the day or would cause
blockage of the station operations. If the primary baler is down
for only a short period of time the backup baler is not put into
operation since it is not as efficient as the primary baler which
has the capability of processing up to 18 tons per hour of incoming
material. Since the material being baled (cardboard) is non-
putresible and will not decompose if allowed to stand for a few
hours there was no hazard or nuisance in waiting for the primary
baler to be repaired.
We trust that the responses given above adequately address your
concerns and illustrate that the Independent Trucking Inc. Transfer
Station and Recycling Center is being operated in compliance with
State Regulations.
Very truly yours,
Daniel A.
