ri
Independent Trucking August 31, 1989
Compliance Agreement Page 2
Due to the volume of material being handled it is not uncommon to
have from 3 to 6 trailers loaded with recyclable materials waiting
to be hauled away. It is also likely that 4 or more containers of
incoming material may be waiting to be unloaded at peak periods
during the day. The trailers and bins are stored on adjacent
property which is owned by Mr. Frank Garavano the owner of the
station. Additional property to the south of the station has
recently been acquired by Mr. Garavano and will be used in the same
manner to provide short term storage for loaded trailers and bins.
This operation is not disruptive to the surrounding area and does
not interfere with public access.
Screening material will be applied to the existing fence on the
south and west sides of the facility. Because of the need for
vehicular traffic to see pedestrians walking on the north side,
visual screening would be a safety hazard and thus it is requested
that it be omitted from this area. The LEA has reviewed this
condition and is in agreement.
Several types of screening material that can be applied to the
fence are currently being evaluated. The schedule for the
evaluation, purchase and installation of the screening material is
as follows:
Complete evaluation - September 8, 1989
Receive and install material - October 15, 1989
The station property is cleaned each day after the waste has been
processed. This cleaning involves sweeping the pavement and
putting the residue into a bin in which it is stored until it is
hauled away. Additionally, the station is washed down a minimum
of once per week.
