As shown on Drawing RSI-2, the Non-Automated Disposal traffic lane enters the east side
of the Transfer Building. Non-Automated Disposal site users back vehicles into the stalls
' shown to unload waste on the tipping/sorting floor. The Automated Disposal entry is via
a bridge over the transfer lane to stalls which serve unloading to the same tipping/sorting
floor.
D. NATURE AND QUANTITY OF WASTES TO BE ACCEPTED
1. Waste Types
a. General
The Station accepts and will continue to accept mixed municipal waste (including
commercial and residential), white goods, and limited amounts of construction and
demolition waste. Oversized materials and stumps will not be accepted.
For purposes of waste quantity tracking and projections the County will continue to
divide the waste accepted into the following general categories:
• Refuse Collectors and the Cities
' • Self Haul (minimum fee loads)
• Non-Minimum Fee; weighed and not weighed
This is done primarily because these site customers are processed in separate
incoming lanes and disposal areas, and they are invoiced separately. As is current
practice, the expansion of the Station will continue to segregate Station traffic to
separate unloading areas. The two Station unloading areas are according to whether
the vehicles are automated unloading vehicles or non-automated unloading vehicles.
These are termed "Automated Unloading" and Non-automated Unloading" disposal
areas on the expansion plans. The design of the Station in this RSI is referenced
accordingly.
The refuse collectors and cities disposal vehicles generally are automated unloading
vehicles. In addition, a small portion of the non-minimum fee vehicles are automated
unloading type. The remainder of site users are non-automated vehicles, which
includes minimum fee loads, weighed loads and loads which are not weighed but
measured to determine the disposal fee.
The methods for handling the waste will basically be the same as current practice in
that Automated Disposal and Non-Automated Disposal waste streams are
commingled during sorting and transfer operations.
b. High liquid content wastes are not accepted at the Station.
C. accepted Designated wastes are not ted at the Station.
g P
07549001.012 6 September 23,1993
