1
E. TYPES AND NUMBERS OF VEHICLES ANTICIPATED TO ENTER THE
STATION ,<v0
' The types and numbers of vehicles anticipated to enter the Station are estimated in
calculation Tables in Appendix B (I.E. Low,I.E.High, and I.E Peaks), which were generated _
' from computer spreadsheets. Similar to the tonnage projections in Section I.D.2,above; the
analysis is The Tables are based on the 1991 CSWD Annual Report(2) of actual vehicle trips
for the Station and waste quantity projections from the same 1990 Annual Reporte". The
' waste quantity projections were used to calculate percentages of increase projected for
Station trips at five year intervals (Table I.E. High and Low), and average and peak
incoming trips for the year 2010 (Table I.E. Peaks). Following is a summary description of
the Tables.
Table Description
I.E. Low Estimates vehicle trips by type of vehicle assuming low projected waste
quantities (using same Table I.D.2.b."low"percentage increases)
I.E. High Estimates vehicle trips by type of vehicle assuming high projected waste
quantities (using same Table I.D.2.b."high"percentage increases)
I.E. Peaks Estimates peak daily trips in the year 2010 for Non-Automated Disposal,
Automated Disposal and total vehicles. (Both low and high estimates)
' The Non-Automated Disposal trips anticipated in the year 2010 ale 478 per day on average.
Based on review of County data for the Station, a factor otT.75 is used to estimate peak
Non-Automated disposal traffic. This results in a projected peak day of 837 trips for the
design year 2j9 0011 The peak factor is based peak days up to roughly 470 trips versus 270
trips on average over 364 days (review of selected 1990 to 1992 data). An analysis of
stacking at the front gate and under hypothetical future increases is contained in III.A.2.b—
Automated Disposal trips are well within the design capacity of the Station without causing
' backup of traffic beyond staging available.
07549001.012 13 September 23,1993
