Power and <br /> lighting will be provided for the various buildings, scales, well, pumps, fuel <br /> dispensers, stationary clamshell, as well as outdoor lighting. A back up <br /> emergency generator will be provided. Battery back up will also be available for <br /> the scales, computer system, and alarm system. <br /> 2.4.13.4 Telephone: Telephone service will be provided for all the buildings. <br /> 2.4.14 Fencing <br /> Chain link fencing and gates around the maintenance yard and site perimeter will provide <br /> .. <br /> security and will assist in the control of blowing litter. <br /> 2.4.15 Landscaping <br /> P g <br /> As shown on Plate 5, Preliminary Landscaping Plan, planting of trees and shrubs is proposed <br /> to screen the station from off-site viewers and to enhance the station's appearance. Plantings will <br /> be selected to require minimal maintenance. All landscaping will be irrigated initially until plants <br /> are established. Irrigation will be continued only as necessary to avoid damage to the plants. <br /> 2.4.16 Potential Expansion Area <br /> r <br /> A parcel of 2.8 acres is located north o e existin facility w i mafT ed for <br /> acquisition when expansion plans are developed in Ine runlre- Buried waste from past disposal <br /> operations is believed to exist in this area. <br /> 2.5 PROPOSED OPERATIONS <br /> 2.5.1 Disposal <br /> The general public is directed to the Public Disposal Area. The vehicles are backed to the edge <br /> of the Public Disposal Area and the waste is unloaded into the Tipping/Sorting Floor four feet <br /> below. <br /> The commercial vehicles are directed to the Commercial Disposal Area where they unload into <br /> the Tipping/Sorting Floor eight feet below. <br /> 2.5.2 Resource Recovery <br /> The primary function of the Transfer Station is carried on inside the Transfer Building. After <br /> the public and commercial vehicles unload the waste into the Tipping/Sorting Floor, the <br /> recyclable materials are manually separated from the waste stream by station personnel. Then, <br /> front-end loaders push the materials toward the south edge of the floor and ultimately they are <br /> dropped into the roll-off bins stationed along the loading dock located at the south edge of the <br /> Tipping/Sorting Floor. <br /> III <br /> C-12 <br />
