2. Recycling Area <br /> The Recycling Area is located south of the Transfer Building, at an elevation <br /> eight feet below the Tipping/Sorting Floor, and immediately adjacent to it. <br /> To facilitate deposit of recyclable materials separated from the waste stream, roll- <br /> off bins will be stationed along the loading dock located at the south edge of the <br /> Tipping/Sorting Floor. <br /> The Recycling Area will provide space for additional roll-off bins used for the <br /> storage of the following recyclable materials: <br /> ' _ glass <br /> plastic <br /> - paper <br /> - cardboard <br /> aluminum <br /> metal scrap <br /> - wood waste <br /> ' _ appliances <br /> other recyclables <br /> 3. Recycling Drop-Off <br /> The Recycling Drop-Off Area is located east of the Transfer Building. This area <br /> will be used by the general public to deposit recyclable materials into designated <br /> bins and will serve as a "redemption center" for beverage containers. <br /> Ttie Recycling Drop-Off Area will also be used for ckpiling of <br /> 17este before it is transpo _ mpostin� facility. This area may also <br /> used to salvage and process materials,and provide for materials exchange of <br /> ' reusable items. <br /> ' An area designated for Household Hazardous Wastes will receive used batteries, <br /> latex paint, waste oil, antifreeze and other recyclable Household Hazardous <br /> Wastes. <br /> I4. Hazardous Material Storage <br /> •A hazardous waste storage locker will provide temporary storage for hazardous <br /> waste detected under the Hazardous Waste Exclusion Program being enforced at <br /> ' the station. For security reasons, the hazardous waste storage locker will be <br /> located inside the fenced service yard area. <br /> 5. Scale House <br /> The Scale House will be of concrete block construction with a concrete slab <br /> ' foundation. The Scale House is the main control point from which the gates are <br /> operated and where the computer system is housed. <br /> 6. Scales <br /> The Regyycling Area and the "public" lane will each have a 50-ton scale,40 feet <br /> long. The Transfer Tunnel and the "commercial" lane will each have a 60-ton <br /> 3-5 <br />
