Office and Maintenance Building <br /> The Office and Maintenance Building will be of steel frame construction with <br /> metal siding and a reinforced concrete foundation. The building will include a <br /> lunchroom,locker rooms, and restrooms. The office area will be air conditioned <br /> and the maintenance area will be provided with radiant heaters. Roll-up doors <br /> will be provided at all service bays. <br /> The Maintenance Building will provide service and minor repair for the transfer <br /> trucks and the equipment operating at the station. <br /> 8. Employee/Visitor Parking <br /> Parking for employees and visitors is located west of the Office/Maintenance <br /> Building and can be accessed from both the entrance and the east exit roads. <br /> 9. Transfer Trailer Parking <br /> The transfer trailers will use this area for overnight parking only and not as a <br /> staging area. <br /> 10. Fuel Station <br /> Fueling will take place at the Fuel Station shown west of the Transfer Building, <br /> along the west exit road. The Fuel Station will provide diesel fuel and gasoline <br /> to the County-owned vehicles and equipment operating at the station. <br /> 11. Roadways <br /> All roadways will be striped and signed to facilitate traffic movement and traffic <br /> safety. The traffic lanes have been designated to emphasize vehicle segregation <br /> and to completely separate the general public from the transfer trailers and <br /> commercial vehicles. <br /> Pavement sections throughout the station will be suitable for heavy vehicles. As <br /> shown on Figure 3-3: Preliminary Grading Plan,maximum ramp slopes are 8% <br /> and the minimum turning radius for "transfer" lanes is 75 feet. <br /> 12. Drainage <br /> There are no off-site drainage facilities. The on-site drainage system will consist <br /> of a network of catch basins and pipes draining into an unlined retention pond, <br /> as shown on Figure 3-4: Preliminary Utility an. The retention pond will be <br /> located west of the Recycling Area and will collect and retain site storm drainage <br /> for percolation and evaporation. The pond has been designed to retain storm <br /> water for two 100-year storms. <br /> The Transfer Tunnel and the Recycling Area will each be provided with a sump <br /> and pump connected to the gravity on-site drainage system.
