CHAPTER 6.0 <br /> PUBLIC SERVICES AND FACILITIES <br /> Public service agencies serving the project area were asked to comment on the proposed <br /> project. The public services discussion includes a&ency comments and/or responses <br /> with regard to fire and police protection,the provision of sewer and water service, and <br /> general public utility services such as telephone and electricity. <br /> A. FIRE PROTECTION <br /> Theproject site is located within the fire protection service area of the Manteca-Lathrop <br /> Fire District. The nearest fire response station to the project site is Station 31,located at <br /> 800 East J Street in Lathrop,California. This station is manned full time,but only has <br /> the capability of a single engine emergency response. <br /> The Fire District has reviewed the preliminary site plans for the proposed project and <br /> indicated that the project will be required to comply with the following fire protection <br /> conditions: <br /> • All buildings shall be sprinkled in accordance with N.F.P.A. Pamphlet 13. <br /> • A pressurized water systemwith diesel ac shall provided i <br /> accordance with .F.P.A. 24 and . .P.A. Pamphlet 20. <br /> • Fire flows shall be in accordance with the Uniform Fire Code, 1991 <br /> Edition,Appendix 3-A. <br /> �Cunningham; <br /> Access shall be in accordance with the Uniform Fire Code, 1991 Edition. <br /> personal communication) <br /> ISSUE: Effects on fire protection service <br /> Expansion of the Lovelace facility in compliance with the above referenced fire agency <br /> requirements will enable the Fire District to maintain its existing level of service to the <br /> project site. <br /> The fire district's requirements should be incorporated as a condition of project <br /> approval, or incorporated into the construction specifications for the project if <br /> approved. <br /> Significance: Potentially significant. <br /> Mitigation: <br /> 6-1.
