B. POLICE PROTECTION
Police protection for the project site is provided by the San Joaquin County Sheriff's
Department. The Department has reviewed the proposed project and indicated that
project development will not pose any effects on police protection levels of service in
the vicinity of the site. (Burnett;personal communication)
ISSUE: Effects on police protection
Significance: Not significant.
Mitigation: Not required.
C. ELECTRIC POWER AND NATURAL GAS
The project site is located within the service area of the Pacific Gas and Electric,
Company (PG&E). PG&E currently provides electrical service to the existing transfer
station facilities. According to Tony Gutierrez, PG&E Manteca Service Area Manager,
gas service to this project is available if desired.
Adjacent PG&E facilities include an existing gas main and electric transmission line,
which services the chicken brooding operation and related agricultural-residential uses
northwest of the project site. The existing PG&E infrastructure servicing the farm
operation are located within the public utility easement area and Farm road on the west
side of the existing transfer station.
Relocation of the existing gas mains and transmission lines may be necessary and
would be at the developers expense. In addition, dedication of new public utility
easements may also be necessary. The relocation of PG&E infrastructure and
dedication of new utility easement areas should be considered asart of this project, in
order to insure that the required facilities and easements are developed in a coordinated
manner.
PG&E has identified the following generalized agency requirements:
• Relocation of PG&E facilities shall be at the developer's expense.
• Dedicated Public Utility Easements for gas and electrical services to the
satisfaction of PG&E.
ISSUE: Effects on PG&E service facilities
General compliance with the above referenced agency requirements will reduce
impacts to PG&E facilities to a less than significant level. The identified agency
requirements should be incorporated as a condition of roject approval,or incorporated
into the construction specifications for the project i approved. No environmental
mitigation is required.
Significance: Potentially significant.
6-2
