P .Td4
(T11
IMPORTANT
••,``anse
NOTICE TO
CUSTOMERS
1
I
HAZARDOUS WASTES ARE NOT ACCEPTED AT THE LANDFILL
• Federal and state laws make it your responsibility to insure
proper disposal of hazardous waste at specially licensed
disposal facilities.
• Many home, garden, car, and hobby products contain potentially
harmful chemicals. These products are "household toxics" and
can harm you and the environment if not used and disposed of
safely. Refuse workers have been injured - often seriously -
when unknowingly collecting trash containing household toxics.
Also, soil and water can be contaminated by dumping these
products on land and in the water.
• Examples of hazardous wastes include many chemicals, pesticides,
cleaning compounds, degreasing solvents, paint, paint thinners,
acid and alkali solutions, pool chemicals, asbestos, motor oil,
Infectious waste, antifreeze, plating and printing wastes, and
soil and refuse contaminated with these materials . Explosives,
radioactives, and pharmaceuticals are also unacceptable, USED
MOTOR OIL IS ACCEPTED AT THE SPECIAL RECYCLING AREA AT THE LANDFILL.
• If hazardous wastes are found in refuse loads, the entire load
wlll.• be rejected, or possibly taken to a special disposal facility
at additional cost . The appropriate regulatory agencies will be
notified of the violation,
• You may be subject to extra fees, possible fines and imprison-
ment for illegal disposal of hazardous wastes.
• DON'T TAKE CHANCES! ASK BEFORE YOU DUMP!
