P .T�d4 <br /> (T11 <br /> IMPORTANT <br /> ••,``anse� <br /> NOTICE TO <br /> CUSTOMERS <br /> 1 <br /> I <br /> HAZARDOUS WASTES ARE NOT ACCEPTED AT THE LANDFILL <br /> • Federal and state laws make it your responsibility to insure <br /> proper disposal of hazardous waste at specially licensed <br /> disposal facilities. <br /> • Many home, garden, car, and hobby products contain potentially <br /> harmful chemicals. These products are "household toxics" and <br /> can harm you and the environment if not used and disposed of <br /> safely. Refuse workers have been injured - often seriously - <br /> when unknowingly collecting trash containing household toxics. <br /> Also, soil and water can be contaminated by dumping these <br /> products on land and in the water. <br /> • Examples of hazardous wastes include many chemicals, pesticides, <br /> cleaning compounds, degreasing solvents, paint, paint thinners, <br /> acid and alkali solutions, pool chemicals, asbestos, motor oil, <br /> Infectious waste, antifreeze, plating and printing wastes, and <br /> soil and refuse contaminated with these materials . Explosives, <br /> radioactives, and pharmaceuticals are also unacceptable, USED <br /> MOTOR OIL IS ACCEPTED AT THE SPECIAL RECYCLING AREA AT THE LANDFILL. <br /> • If hazardous wastes are found in refuse loads, the entire load <br /> wlll.• be rejected, or possibly taken to a special disposal facility <br /> at additional cost . The appropriate regulatory agencies will be <br /> notified of the violation, <br /> • You may be subject to extra fees, possible fines and imprison- <br /> ment for illegal disposal of hazardous wastes. <br /> • DON'T TAKE CHANCES! ASK BEFORE YOU DUMP! <br />
